Traditionally from India, chai is a powerful, vibrant blend of tea that has all the flavour infusions you would anticipate from a traditional Indian recipe.

Commonly made up of strong black tea, milk, a variety of spices and a sweetener, it produces a soothing and warming drink. The spices can vary from region to region and most families have their very own unique combination.

The people of India have been enjoying the comforting flavour of chai for centuries, and over the last five years there has been a phenomenal growth of interest in chai meaning it now features on many menus across the globe with its popularity continuing to grow.

Drinking chai is part of life in India-it’s loved in every home, sold on every street and served in every shop. We drank plenty of it on out travels, which is why our two spicy creations taste so authentic.

The first of the two flavours, Zuma Vanilla Chai, has all the traditional flavours of black tea extract, ground ginger and cinnamon, but also features a hint of vanilla for a sweet and soothing finish.

Zuma Spiced Chai has the perfect balance of spices, delivering a warming blend of black tea extract, ground ginger and cinnamon. It doesn’t have the sweet taste of the Vanilla Chai but instead offers a spicy kick.

Both Zuma Chai flavours are delicious simply as a tea on their own with hot water, or as a latte with hot milk. Chai is such a versatile drink and can easily be adapted to everyone’s personal taste. Try mixing it up with coffee for an interesting twist, or maybe you would like to offer up a dairy free option on your menu?
